So we mentioned this last year because it seemed like a pretty cool thing, and it’s coming up again this year…with a new addition. The folks of Hardcore Pawn are getting involved.
Celebrity Coneys for a Cause runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the larger of the dueling coneys in downtown Detroit…
On tap for that are people like weather forecaster Dave Rexroth from WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), sportscaster Ryan Ermanni and legal reporter Charlie Langton from WJBK-TV (Channel 2), and radio personalities Rachel Hunter and Jason of WYCD-FM (99.5), Vickie Thomas of WWJ-AM (950), Buck and Coop of WDZH-FM (98.7), Stacey Duford of WOMC-FM (104.3) and Mike Stone and Bill McAllister of WXYT-FM (97.1).That’s a prelude to a THAW radiothon Friday and Saturday on WWJ, broadcasting from the Art Van store in Warren.
Then comes Hardcore THAW, 8-11 p.m. Feb. 8 at the pawn shop on Greenfield Road. Buy a $100 ticket at www.thawfund.org and you get to show up at 7 p.m. for the tour. Otherwise, it’s $50 for food, beverages, shopping, an auction and appraisals.
