Ride 2 Recovery: Support Wounded Military Vets

So, you know we have our event this coming Thursday to support Michigan military troops, right?

Right?

(hint: if the answer is “no”, you have some explaining to do)

So…Right?

Right.

Well, while you’re waiting for Thursday to get here, here’s something really cool you can do to help wounded military veterans…

This just came in as a note…

One of my friends is involved with Ride 2 Recovery (R2R) – they work with wounded military veterans through recovery programs that feature cycling throughout the US.

R2R raises money to support Spinning Recovery Labs and outdoor cycling programs at military and VA locations around the United States. They also design and build specially adapted bikes to suit the recovery processes of injured military veterans, including quadruple amputees.

United Airlines is helping R2R in this year’s “10 Million Charity Miles Giveaway” this holiday season. Ride 2 Recovery has an opportunity to be the beneficiary of many of these miles based on the number of people who go to 10millioncharitymiles.com and vote for Ride 2 Recovery.

Once in the site, put “Ride 2 Recovery” where it says ‘Find a Charity’, it will take you to a page with Ride 2 Recovery on it – go down to #5 to vote.

The more votes R2R gets, the more miles they get and the more vets they can help. You do not need to be a United Frequent Flyer, anyone can vote. You can vote once a day every day until December 25th, what a great way to help a great cause right before Christmas, think of it as putting something in our stocking, and it doesn’t cost you a penny.   Ride 2 Recovery ‘s web site is www.ride2recovery.com

So, one more time for emphasis:

(editorial aside: there are actually several very worthy causes on that page – so take a moment and go, even if your preference leads you to click elsewhere…go.  And then we’ll see you Thursday night – http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/december-2012/)
