Okay, so not that we want to distract anyone from our upcoming events in November and December, but we’ve already got 2013 events in the works.
And 2013 is going to be a great year, folks.
New venues. New cities. The IT in the D conference we’ve been talking about forever.
So let’s take a look at what we’ve got planned so far…
Now, like I said, we don’t want to distract you too terribly much from what we’ve got going on for the rest of this year, so let’s talk about that for a moment.
Our last true casual networking event for information technology professionals here in metro Detroit for 2012 will be taking place on November 15th, back in the familiar stomping grounds of the back room of the BlackFinn in Royal Oak. Details are on our site here – http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/november-casual-networking-social/ – and on LinkedIn here – http://linkd.in/P0qmZl.
That’s our last true casual networking event because yet again this year, December’s event on the 13th (yes, that’s a week earlier than our usual monthly schedule…we’re trying to play nice with others and make sure we don’t interfere with other things going on that month in everyone’s lives) is going to be something a little more than just that. Yet again this year our end of the year event will be not just a networking event, not just a gathering in a cool bar here in the area, not just a good place to make new connections and strengthen existing ones, but also a “Support The Troops” event. This time around we’re working with 25 National Guardsmen from Michigan who just got boots on ground in Afghanistan earlier this month. So take a look on our site – http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/december-2012/ for the details. Yes, the basics are out on LinkedIn, Meetup, Facebook, and everywhere else we have a presence page…but our home base here online is absolutely where you should be keeping an eye on to make sure you’re always up to speed with the latest info on this one.
And that will wrap up 2012.
So now let’s look a bit ahead into 2013.
January will kick off at Como’s in Ferndale. We’ll be upstairs in their private event room, and we’re looking forward to getting back to Ferndale. It’s been a long time. For those not in the know, ITintheD.com started off at the Post Bar in Ferndale back in 2001. Naturally, we can’t get back there, so Como’s is just going to have to be an acceptable surrogate…and we’re sure they’ll do just fine for our group. They’ve actually just brought in a new General Manager, and he’s anxiously looking forward to making sure this goes smoothly, so this should be a good thing. That event takes place on January 17th, and we’re looking forward to kicking off the new year there. Details here: http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/january-casual-networking-social-2/
February brings us to a new brewery that’s opening up in Warren, auspiciously named Falling Down Beer Company. Founded by two IT guys who got out of the Information Technology industry and started a brewery…something tells us that this is going to be a great fit. Details are available here: http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/february-casual-networking-social-2/
March. Ah, March.
March brings us…finally…to IT in the D, the conference for information technology peeps that we’ve been talking about for two years. It’s finally happening. We have the perfect date – 3/13/13. We have the perfect venue – The Masonic.
Honestly, we simply can’t wait for it to get here. This has been so heavily on our minds for so long that’s it’s just nearly unbelievable that it’s finally taking shape.
Details, such as they are at the moment, are available here: http://www.ITinTheD.com/event/it-in-the-d-a-conference-for-information-technology-professionals-in-metro-detroit/
And, well, believe it or not, we’re not stopping there.
We’ve also already got venues scoped out and dates planned for most of 2013…as well as a few other tricks (and treats) up our sleeves.
But it’s no fun if we tell you everything all at once…so let’s stop here for now.
