August kicks off with a bang as we’re joined by the crew from VoxVii / The Rack Show and The Darton Group for episode 103 of our weekly live podcast tonight, the podcast network we just launched just went through a major growth spurt, we’re still a couple of weeks away from our next event, a Pink Slip Party is just around the corner, and naturally we’ve got some blog entries, Facebook fun and more…
We’re going to get back to doing just one event per month for a bit, sticking with our usual Third Thursday rotation.
And so on Thursday, August 20th we’ll be upstairs in the Huma Room at Hopcat at our usual starting time of 5pm. We had a great time there back in May, and so it’s definitely a place we want to do more of these events at moving forward.
No cover charge to get in, no sales pitches, no agendas, no nonsense. Just good, solid opportunities to get to know some of the best and brightest folks in the metro Detroit information technology community. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Details can be found here on the site – https://itinthed.com/meet/, on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/ITinTheD, or in our Meetup group – http://www.meetup.com/ITintheD/
On Thursday, September 17th, we’re back at The Majestic Theater for yet another one of our (in)famous Pink Slip Parties.
If you’re not familiar with our Pink Slip Party events, then you should probably learn why they’re different from our casual networking events by reading the frequently asked questions over at https://itinthed.com/faq/, and you can check out some photos over at https://itinthed.com/meet/photos/.
Like all of our Pink Slip Party events, we’ll be accepting a very limited set of sponsors to help us offset the costs of running the event who get to have an established physical presence at the event, appear on all of our marketing materials and media mentions. Check out our sponsors page at https://itinthed.com/sponsors/ and then drop us a note to reserve a spot.
Naturally, that’ll be a topic during tonight’s live broadcast of our weekly live podcast.
Tonight we’re joined by the VoxVii crew, a fun and whacky bunch that we met back at Midwest Media Expo, as well as The Darton Group, a company from down South (as in “North Carolina”, not like “downriver”…) that’s breaking into the scene here in metro Detroit.
Mics go live at 9pm like always, so join us by listening live from 9pm to 11pm, and then hit us up by firing up Twitter and hitting @ITintheD during the show. We love audience participation, so come along and play with us! Not sure how to listen live? We’ve got instructions for you over here: https://itinthed.com/listen/how-to-listen/. You can catch last week’s episode witih Security Mentor and Comcast over at https://itinthed.com/17549/episode-102-security-mentor-comcast/
Now, as mentioned…something else that will be talked about tonight is that our podcast network project just went through a pretty decent growth spurt. Karen joined us for episode 100 a few weeks ago, and she decided that both her own show and all of the other shows she’s been working with at her network would be better off and happier rolling into what we’ve put together…and so a frantic flurry of activity later, Podcast Detroit has just assimilated a whole bunch of shows and we’re finalizing details on schedules, timing, launch dates, etc., as this is being written. You can read all about the announcement and more over on the Podcast Detroit Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PodcastDetroit/posts/951437271564706
Like the new station on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PodcastDetroit
Follow the mayhem on Twitter: https://twitter.com/podcastdetroit
Catch the shows in syndication on Soundcloud at https://soundcloud.com/podcastdetroit
And then if you want to join them…and us…by possibly launching your own show, we do have a few limited slots left where shows might fit, and we can also talk about syndication as well. Drop us a note – https://itinthed.com/contact-us/ – and let’s chat about what you’ve got in mind.
